Luximpact to Revive Heritage French Jeweler Oscar Massin, Using Lab-grown Rocks
Co-founded by Frederic de Narp,
who spent most of his career at
Cartier and Harry Winston, the Paris- based Luximpact is a new investment
firm that’s looking to revive historic
French jewelry houses and put
sustainable materials, and socially
responsible practices, at their core...
The diamonds are produced by
WD Diamonds, which meets high
standards of environmental and
ethical responsibility as measured by
SCS Global Services. SCS specializes
in third-party certification, validation
and verification of companies’
environmental and sustainability claims. According to WD, the Latitude branded rocks are fully traceable, grown in the U.S. and guaranteed conflict-free.
Reviving a Heritage Jewelry House—This Time With Lab-Grown Diamonds
The new Oscar Massin will follow its namesake’s lead when it comes to modernizing and revamping the jewelry making process. They will only use fully traceable, untreated, and climate-neutral lab-grown diamonds from the company Latitude in settings of 100% recycled gold and platinum. De Narp calls lab-grown diamonds an “incredible fruit of human genius,” and adds that it has only been possible to create a brand that only uses high quality lab-grown diamonds in the last six or seven years. Since all the diamonds are grown in Latitude’s Washington D.C. facility, the buyer will know the provenance of each stone.
Former executives from Harry Winston and Cartier are betting on recycled gold and lab-grown diamonds to revive a 160 year-old Paris jeweller favoured by Empress Eugénie and Anna Wintour...
The brand partnered with a Washington, DC-based provider of lab-grown stones, Latitude Diamonds, and partnered with a New York jewellery workshop to produce the collection.
New Third-Party Diamond Standard Certifies World’s First Climate Neutral Lab-Grown Diamonds With Verified Origin
In late June 2021, Latitude a lab-grown diamond company that’s a division of the Washington D.C.-based WD Lab Grown Diamonds opened a new chapter in jewelry history by announcing that it is the world’s first and only diamond company to produce lab-grown diamonds that are carbon neutral, and what’s more, climate neutral. While diamonds have long been evaluated based on their cut, color, clarity and carat weight (collectively known as the 4 Cs), Latitude embodies the 5th C, or climate neutrality.

Lab Grown or Natural Diamonds? The Choice Is Getting Clearer for Customers and Retailers
The only thing holding lab-growns back is that demand exceeds supply. “Every prime lab-grown diamond grower is sold out for 2021 already,” relates Marty Hurwitz of MVI Marketing and publisher of the MVEye. “Some of them are already taking advanced orders for 2022 and they’re getting cash up front for those orders.”
Some Created Diamond Sellers Want to Make “As-Grown” A Thing
The companies that offer untreated stones are generally considered more technologically advanced than others. “Our process—both our patents and the proprietary process we put on top of that—put us in a very unique position of not having to treat larger goods to enhance the color,” said WD CEO Sue Rechner.
